Emergency Services Provided at Coast Dental Fayetteville

Dental emergencies can occur in any number of ways. Many dental emergencies are caused by damage or decay that has intensified over time. Others are caused by accidents that happen in the blink of an eye. Whatever the cause of your dental crisis, we have the skills and experience necessary to treat it. Our services include:

  • Jaw Swelling - Your jawbone and supporting tissue play an important role in your overall dental health. Any swelling or discomfort can be a sign of infection. It is important to have this area examined to find the right treatment for permanent relief.
  • Crown or Filling Replacement - A crown or filling can become loose or fall out. When this happens, you may experience immediate pain or discomfort when trying to eat or drink. It is important to have these dental fixtures replaced as soon as possible to avoid any additional damage.
  • Gum Discomfort - Tenderness or pain in your gums can be a signal of a larger concern that requires medical attention. It is important to take any changes in your gums seriously since they play such a major role in your overall oral health.
  • Root Canal Therapy - This service is often provided for patients who are dealing with serious decay or damage to a specific tooth. In many instances, the problem tooth may have already needed repeat fillings or crowns. A root canal can help restore the natural tooth and prevent the need for extraction.
  • Filling Replacement - A filling can become loose or fall out completely. This can happen for several reasons, usually depending on the material used to make the filling, and if the tooth has experienced any further decay. It is important to have fillings (and crowns) replaced as soon as possible to prevent further decay.
  • Extractions - if a tooth or teeth become too damaged or decayed, a full removal could be the best option. This helps protect the remaining healthy teeth from the spread of infection and also alleviates pain swiftly.
  • Toothache relief - A toothache can seem manageable at first. You may even purchase over-the-counter treatment that provides temporary relief. It is important to understand that topical medicine cannot provide permanent relief. This is because toothaches are often the result of a more serious underlying complication. Dr. Irving can help determine the base cause and provide the treatment necessary for lasting relief.

Preemptive Measures You Can Take

No one wants to deal with a dental emergency. This is why it is helpful to take as many precautions as possible. One step you should take to reduce the need for emergency dental care is committing to a robust dental hygiene schedule including brushing and flossing. The next best preemptive measure is scheduling regular appointments twice a year with Dr. Irving at Coast Dental Fayetteville for check-ups and cleanings. This allows us to better monitor your overall dental health. We will be able to see any inconsistencies or potential complications. Early detection helps us prevent any minor problems from escalating into stressful and traumatic dental emergencies.

We Are Here to Help

There is no reason to wait when you are feeling dental distress. Many dental problems feel manageable until they've already turned into a serious health concern, and almost all get worse with time if ignored. Coast Dental Fayetteville can help see you through any dental emergency. We are available at (855) 867-3691.
