Dylan

Just finished a treatment plan with Smile Lab. From my initial visit to today, it’s been hands down the best dentistry experience I’ve had. Ekaterina, Dr Basseri and the rest of the Team made the experience seamless, shameless (I was long over due for a visit), and shockingly painless. Not only was the customer experience fantastic but it’s really clear that the team cares deeply about their patients’ comfort and long-term health. Couldn’t recommend more and actually excited for follow up visits (something I never thought I'd say about the dentist’s :) )

New Yorkers experience dental emergencies on a regular basis. Whether due to auto accidents, sports injuries, or simply a broken or missing crown, implant, or filling, dental injuries and emergencies can cause pain, spread infection, and leave you with an altered smile. Unfortunately, even in the city that never sleeps, it can be difficult to locate an emergency dentist office that offers full-scale dental services. Smile Lab and Dr. Waise Ebrahimi are here to help with quality, affordable emergency dental care.

Our team of professionals understands that a dental emergency can be very frightening, but we want our patients to know they are not alone. Dr. Ebrahimi and Smile Lab work with you and your family to get you the care that is needed. To help, we offer a wide variety of New York emergency dental services, including:

  • Dental Fillings—We can provide dental fillings for patients with cavities and to replace cracked or missing fillings. These injuries to your tooth are likely causing you extreme discomfort and need to be treated as soon as possible.
  • Crowns—Whether you have a broken crown or a cracked tooth in need of a crown, we can help you prevent further damage by installing a new crown.
  • Root Canal Treatment—If you have an infection that has reached the pulp in the center of your tooth, a root canal treatment may be necessary. This will help to clear the infection, reduce your pain, and save your tooth.
  • Extractions—If you have a broken, damaged, or cracked tooth that cannot be repaired by fillings or crowns, we may recommend an extraction so your mouth can heal properly.
  • Knocked-Out Teeth—Auto accidents, sports injuries and more can result in healthy teeth being knocked out. We can help you assess your options for repair or replacement.

We hope you never have to experience a dental emergency, but if you do, know that Smile Lab is here for you! Dr. Ebrahimi offers emergent dental services to help you through your time of dental need.

Are Dental Emergencies Preventable?

Dental emergencies resulting from oral trauma can happen to anyone, at any time. However, other types of dental issues can be prevented or addressed before they become emergencies. In fact, the best way to prevent dental emergencies is by maintaining good oral health habits. If you're looking to avoid an emergency dental procedure in the future, consider the following habits:

  • Brush and floss twice a day. Don't forget to brush your tongue, cheeks, and gums as well as your teeth. This can help you to avoid the plaque and tartar buildup that will lead to tooth decay and cavities.
  • Floss routinely. Flossing is one of the most important things you can do for your oral health. Flossing aids in removing plaque and bacteria from between your teeth and gums. This can help to prevent gum disease and tooth decay.
  • See your dentist at least twice a year. Regular dental checkups are another important aspect of keeping your mouth healthy. During your dental checkups, our dentists can remove plaque and tartar buildup that brushing and flossing may have missed. They can also detect any early signs of tooth decay or gum disease.
  • Use a mouth guard. If you play sports, it's important to use a mouthguard. Mouthguards can help to protect your teeth from being knocked out or fractured. You should also consider a mouth guard if you grind your teeth at night.
  • Avoid drink and snacks high in sugar. Foods and drinks with high sugar content can cause tooth decay, cavities, or even gum disease. Try to avoid these types of snacks whenever possible.

These are just some of the ways you can avoid needing emergency care. For more tips, please contact our office. We are here to help you continue to maintain optimal oral health so that you can help prevent a dental emergency.
