Dr Zak is amazing. I trust her with my smile because she is professional, caring, and great at what she does. Her staff is friendly and proactive and I always leave with the sense that I have received the best service. She has seen me through very complicated dental procedures with empathy and understanding. After jumping around from dentist to dentist most of my life, once I found Dr Zak, I stayed put…I knew I was in the best hands.

Emergency Dental Services in New York, NY

If an emergency happens, you want to call a professional to help. In case of a fire, you'll call a firefighter. In case of a popped tire, you'll call an auto mechanic. In the case of a dental emergency, you should contact a dentist. However, in many cases, your regular dentist may be busy. You shouldn't have to wait for them to have open space on their schedule, as the problem can get worse and unbearable quickly. You also shouldn't attempt to deal with the pain with remedies meant to alleviate your discomfort for only a short time. Get in contact with someone who can help you on short notice. For the people in New York, this person is Dr. Zoya Zak.

Everyone is Welcome at Our Clinic

From new patients to regulars, everyone is welcome to get help at our office. We believe that everyone should have equal access to safe, efficient, high-quality dental work, and we strive to provide it for all our patients. Our relationship with our patients is something we take very seriously. We want to earn your trust so that you may feel confident to come back for future visits whenever needed. We want to help.

A Variety of Emergency Dental Services Available

From minor aches to big injuries and everything in between, dental emergencies need to be taken seriously, and this means taking care of them early on so that the problem doesn't get worse. Infections can spread, decay can grow deeper, and pains won't go away with only painkillers. Even something that seems small at first can become much worse as time goes on. Therefore, we offer emergency dental services so that all problems can be handled by a professional that can keep your smile healthy.

These emergency dental services cover issues like:

  • Crown and filling loss: Crowns and fillings are designed to stay attached to your teeth to prevent further decay. However, they can fall out if the decay comes back or if these crowns and fillings aren't made of strong metals. Their loss re-opens the cavity and allows more bacteria to get in, and they can be particularly painful as well. Dr. Zoya Zak will replace these fillings for you and repair any damage.
  • Toothaches: Cavities love sugary foods and inconsistent hygiene routines. In all cases, a toothache can be annoying at best and unbearable at worst. A pesky toothache may prevent you from eating, brushing, or flossing properly. Depending on the source of the issue, the ache may get worse over time or spread to other teeth. Your best bet is to call a dentist as soon as you notice a growing toothache.
  • Swelling in the jaw: A swollen jaw usually comes from a bacterial infection, and this infection can spread to the rest of your dental system if not stopped. Dr. Zak can clean out the infected area before the problem worsens and prevent the swelling from growing.
  • Discomfort in your gums: Pain, reddening, swelling, or bleeding gums come from many things, including severe infection. In addition to being painful, bloody, and unsettling, a gum infection can put the rest of your oral health at risk. Trust your dentist to figure out the cause of the pain and put a stop to it.
  • Damaged teeth: Teeth can be injured in several ways, most commonly due to a physical impact, such as by eating a portion of hard food or being hit in the jaw. While small chips might not be so bad, larger damages, such as cracks, can worsen over time or make it more difficult to eat. A professional can repair the damage and protect your injured tooth from developing caries.
  • Root canal: When a cavity isn't handled in time or when the decay is simply too deep to stop with cleaning and a filling, you'll need a root canal. In this process, the dentist cleans out the decay by drilling down into the tooth and extracting the pulp. Then, the dentist fills the remaining space with resin and seals it with a crown. This treatment has a reputation for being painful, but Dr. Zoya Zak will do her best to keep you comfortable during your root canal.
  • Tooth loss and removal: In the worst-case scenarios, patients can lose a tooth. This is often the result of severe damage or unrepairable decay. The tooth may fall out on its own, in which case you need to visit a dentist immediately to avoid further damage to the exposed cavity. In other cases, the dentist may determine that a damaged tooth is beyond saving and proceed to extract it. In both scenarios, you can have a replacement tooth once the rest of the damage is addressed.
