Dr. Dhruv A. Patel is fantastic. I truly recommend anyone to him. He is very sweet and extremely thorough in what he does. He is transparent in the exams, tells you exactly what you need and gives recommendations without seeming forceful. I’ve gone to him previously at another practice and would travel almost an hour to be seen by him, he’s just that good! His staff is also exceptional. Very welcoming. The office is clean, cute and modern! I am so glad that his new practice is so much closer to home.

Dr. Patel and his dental care team are well-trained, and we will always help you to the best of our ability with whatever you need.

The Emergency Dental Services We Offer

Some dental emergencies must be treated as quickly as possible, so it is good to be familiar with some of the dental emergencies that you could encounter. Whether you experienced damage to your mouth, or you have a painful toothache, Dr. Patel and his team of dental care professionals will be able to provide you with the care you need and solve your problem quickly.

We can provide you with the following emergency dental services:

  • Toothache pain relief. Thousands of people every year suffer from toothaches. Though a toothache may seem like a simple issue, over time it can become a more complex dental issue that requires a more invasive and expensive procedure. Regular pain medication may be able to give you temporary pain relief but will do nothing to solve the problem. If you are experiencing a persistent toothache, you can schedule an appointment and our team will be able to find the root of the problem and solve it for the long term.
  • Jaw swelling reduction. Many people are unaware that dental health includes more than just one's teeth and gums. A person's jawbone serves as an important support system for their teeth. If you discover swelling in or near your jaw, this may be a sign of a serious infection that can spread and become an even larger problem. Have any jaw swelling you are experiencing examined by a professional as quickly as possible and have it treated to maintain healthy teeth and avoid an infection.
  • Gum pain. Dr. Patel can provide solutions for gum pain as well. There can be signs in a patient experiencing gum pain that may denote certain kinds of infections in the mouth. Contact our office and schedule an appointment today if you are experiencing consistent gum pain.
  • Root canals. A root canal is a type of dental surgery that restores the connection between a damaged tooth and the tooth's root in the jaw. The procedure is meant to help the patient from having to endure tooth extraction and take away the pains and aches that come with a damaged tooth. Our team of emergency care professionals will help you through the procedure and make sure to fix the problem for the long term.
  • Avulsed and damaged tooth care. These procedures help those who injured their mouth and have knocked out a tooth as a result. Schedule an appointment as soon as you can if you get such an injury because injuries to the mouth and damage to the teeth can often cause further problems, including cracks in the jawbone. Each person and problem is different, but sometimes an avulsed tooth can be put back if you can have the proper emergency procedures done quickly.
  • Extractions. Decayed and damaged teeth can spread infection to other teeth or into the jawbone. Often, you need to have diseased and damaged teeth removed as soon as possible. Dr. Patel and his team can quickly remove a problematic tooth and relieve you of the intense pain that comes with broken and infected teeth.
  • Filling and crown repair. During dental procedures, a dentist may insert a filling or crown into a repaired tooth to make sure that it stays fixed. However, fillings and crowns can fall out of your mouth. If a crown or filling falls out of your tooth, schedule an appointment as soon as you can to have it returned to where it needs to be and ensure your dental health. Failing to have a crown or filling replaced quickly can cause damage to that tooth and even your other teeth.

Avoiding Dental Emergencies

There is no doubt that many dental emergencies can be stressful, expensive, and painful. If you want to avoid having to go through an emergency dental procedure, remember to practice daily dental care, such as brushing and flossing your teeth. If you have regularly scheduled dental appointments every six months with Colonialtown Dental, you can also make sure that a dental professional will be able to find minor issues and fix them before they become larger and more expensive issues in need of more invasive procedures.
