Pinecrest Dental is an amazing office will amazing people supporting its foundations. I've worked there as an assistant and can say working closely with Doctor Williams and the rest of the staff at Pinecrest that they are all competent, compassionate, and willing to go the extra mile for any and all. They do a ton of amazing events and giveaways that I wouldn't have imagined seeing at a Dentist before coming here. All in all they are great to be at, both as a patient and a coworker

Emergency Dental Services We Provide

Dental emergencies come in all forms ranging from toothaches to physical injury. No matter what the cause of the oral issue is, Dr. Williams and his team of professionals can provide many different services to treat your pain and restore your dental health.

The services we provide include:

  • Toothache. We have had many patients visit us who have ignored the early signs of a toothache. This usually leads to more problematic issues, as a toothache can be the symptom of a much larger problem. Over-the-counter medications can provide some relief, but this is only temporary and shouldn't be relied on as a permanent solution. If you are dealing with a toothache, come see us in our office. We can eliminate the cause of the problem and provide permanent relief.
  • Jaw swelling reduction. Your dental health is more than just the teeth and gums. It also includes the jawbone and surrounding tissue, and they are a strong support system for your teeth. If you notice there is swelling in your jaw, this often means there is an infection that could spread along the jawbone and into nearby tissue. It is important to identify the cause and treat the issue as soon as possible to protect your oral health.
  • Gum pain. If you're dealing with gum pain, Dr. Williams can offer treatment that will alleviate the issue. Gum pain is a sign that there is an issue in the deeper tissue of the gums. We will find the cause of the pain and provide the service you need to treat the issue and relieve the pain.
  • Root canals. If you have a tooth that is decayed or damaged, a root canal procedure can be used to save the tooth. In most cases, the tooth that qualifies for a root canal previously had a filling or crown. Root canals are utilized to reconnect the root and tooth, which relieves the pain and preserves the tooth. This method also avoids the need for extracting the tooth.
  • Avulsed and damaged tooth care. This is also called a “knockout.” This situation is caused by accidents such as physical injury and car accidents. If you have a tooth that gets knocked out, you should seek treatment immediately. This is so the dentist can examine the socket for other damage. The avulsed tooth can sometimes be restored and saved. Dental damage can also include chipped, cracked, or broken teeth, and you should seek treatment for these as soon as possible. No situation is the same, and avulsed and damaged teeth should be looked at by a professional so they can determine the best solution.
  • Extractions. Decayed and damaged teeth can spread an infection to your other teeth. In this case, it would be best to remove the tooth or teeth that are severely damaged or decayed. Extractions protect the other teeth from infection and can provide immediate pain relief.
  • Filling and crown repair. Fillings and crowns protect teeth that have already had dental work done on them in the past. However, sometimes they can become loose and fall out. If you experience this, it is crucial to have them replaced or repaired as soon as you possibly can to avoid further damage.

How to Prevent Dental Emergencies

Managing a dental emergency can be painful and stressful. It's not possible to avoid all emergencies, but many can be prevented through proper dental care. While at home, maintain a routine of regular brushing and flossing. This can help protect your teeth and gums from major issues.

You should also schedule regular six-month appointments with us at Pinecrest Dental. This will allow our staff to monitor your oral health and prevent minor issues from becoming more problematic.
